Christian Olsen is back in action this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, where he will focus fully on his European Le Mans Series campaign with RLR Msport.
Olsen will again share the team’s LMP3 class Ligier JS P3 with Martin Rich and Martin Vedel, with the aim of a strong finish in the hotly-contested LMP3 class. Last year in the rain-shortened ELMS race in the Ardennes, Olsen finished ninth in the class, and will look to improve on that form this time out.
Spa Francorchamps is arguably the most challenging circuit on the ELMS calendar.
7km in length, it features a mix of high, medium and low speed corners and significant elevation changes. It plays host to many major races including the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix annually as well as a six-hour FIA WEC race which acts as a ‘dress rehearsal’ for the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Olsen will not be taking part in the penultimate Le Mans Cup round of the season this weekend, the Dane opting to shift his focus fully to his ELMS effort with the season winding down.
On Saturday, the Le Mans Cup race will start at 15:55, ahead of Sunday’s ELMS encounter at 12:30 (both local time).
